I didn't make the shortlist for the Varuna HarperCollins Awards. I'm disappointed, but Also encouraged. The fact that I made the longlist means I am heading in the right direction with this manuscript.
Anyway, my bag is half packed. Time to head south. Away from the television, internet connections and even a landline phone. Time to write.

I'm so sorry, Susan. I have my fingers crossed for you. But now you'll just have to write ANOTHER novel and sub it next year! :)
OMG - can i just finish this novel and re-sub it as a better more complete work? I've spent the last few days fighting with the damn thing - I'm not going to start another of the damn things until I've conquered this one!
